چکیده
Algebraic explicit wall models covering the entire inner region of turbulent boundary layer are proposed to reduce computational effort for large eddy simulation wall-bounded flows. The formulas given in closed forms with either logarithmic- or power-function-based laws wall, allowing straightforward evaluation friction velocity on near grids independent their locations layer. performance is demonstrated by modeled a plane channel flow.

Wall-layer Models for Large-eddy Simulations
■ Abstract Because the cost of large-eddy simulations (LES) of wall-bounded flows that resolve all the important eddies depends strongly on the Reynolds number, methods to bypass the wall layer are required to perform high-Reynolds-number LES at a reasonable cost. In this paper the available methodologies are reviewed, and their ranges of applicability are highlighted. Various unresolved issues...

متن کاملStochastic Coherent Adaptive Large-Eddy Simulation with explicit filtering
Stochastic Coherent Adaptive Large-Eddy Simulation is a novel approach to the numerical simulation of turbulence, based upon the wavelet thresholding filter, where the coherent energetic eddies are solved while modelling the influence of the less energetic background flow. In this study, in order to examine the quality and reliability of the method, additional explicit wavelet filtering is intr...

Diierent dynamic subgrid scale models, viz. the dynamic model of Germano et al. are evaluated by means of a priori tests. Direct numerical simulation data for fully-developed turbulent and transitional incompressible ows are used. Low correlation is obtained between exact and modeled subgrid scale stresses with the DSM. Conversely, good agreement is found for both the DMM and the DTM, since tho...
